Want to know how to get quality kitchen cabinets for the kitchen? Today I’m sharing the installation process of our Wolf Cabinets at the split level house renovation and you are not going to believe the kitchen transformation that has happened in this split level home. We partnered with the Horner Millwork Kitchen Design Center in Somerset, Ma and Wolf Home Products for our kitchen and their Classic Kitchen Cabinetry line is gorgeous!
Here is the 3D rendering of the kitchen design once we completed the design process.
Best Kitchen Cabinets 2023
If you have been following along, you know that we removed the kitchen wall between the dining and living room to open up the kitchen. Here is the kitchen before we removed the wall.
Wolf is one of the largest kitchen and bath suppliers in the country offering a variety of cabinetry lines to meet different budgets.
I am here to tell you that you can definitely get quality kitchen cabinets without breaking the bank. You do not need to sacrifice quality to save money – you just need to know what to look for regarding materials used to construct the cabinet and which features you want.
You may remember a couple months ago, I shared on Instagram stories my afternoon spent at the Horner Millwork Somerset Ma Kitchen Design center where I worked with a design specialist (above) to create our kitchen layout.
When I tell you that designing the space was seamless and fun, I am not kidding. We created a kitchen layout that was conducive to a large family featuring a center island, a buffet wall with a built pantry and an L shaped kitchen cabinet layout jam packed with storage options.
Wolf Classic Cabinets
All Wolf Classic cabinets are hand-crafted, solid hardwood components and a state-of-the-art finishing system produce a consistently beautiful and long-lasting appearance. I am so impressed with the quality of these cabinets and the best part, they are affordable!
The cabinets were delivered by Horner Millwork Work and came fully assembled. We have partnered with Horner Millwork several times over the the past few years and their delivery guys are always so funny! I don’t know if it’s because they are secretly laughing at me taking a million pictures and video or if they are just a really happy bunch but they are always smiling and laughing. As you can see below, Jimbo’s guy in the background was posing in a serious face. I told him this was going on the blog and he wanted to make sure he looked tough 😂.
The overall house is a modern farmhouse style (wait until you see the board and batten exterior siding we just installed!).
I ultimately decided on the The Dartmouth 5-Piece kitchen cabinets as they offer a clean contemporary look featuring a modern-shaker style.
Wolf Cabinet Installation
We started by adding a chalk line against the back wall to create a line. The house was built in the 1960’s so the floors and walls are not 100% level. The kitchen cabinet base units needed a small amount of shimming on the floor to get them level but all in all, it was a fairly smooth process.
Once the base kitchen cabinets were level, they screwed them together to keep them in place.
Below you can see the kitchen base being attached to the wall with screws.
Wolf Cabinets Colors
Wolf Cabinets come in a variety of paint and stain colors as well as many different door styles. I decided on white kitchen cabinets and a gray/blue island. I personally love the blue color island option but when you are selling a home, it’s often times best to keep your style and color selections simple to appeal to the majority of buyers.
The kitchen cabinet installation took about 4 hours with two guys installing.
The upper cabinet installation was the same process as the lower cabinets. Simply create your starting point on the wall (leaving approximately 18″ from the top of a kitchen counter and bottom of wall cabinet) and snapping a chalk line.
The upper cabinets are a little more tricky as you definitely need two people and adding a board across your chalk line to rest the back of the cabinet on is also helpful!
I love the buffet wall and pantry along the back wall. The kitchen cabinets are packed with quality storage components such as pull out drawers, pantry pull out deep drawer access, pull out lazy susan, a pull out trash bin and my favorite feature, the soft close door and drawer option.
Overall I am super impressed with the quality of our Wolf Classic Kitchen Cabinets and the installation process was very easy. If you are looking for quality kitchen cabinetry regardless of your budget, be sure to check out Wolf Home Products as they have a variety of cabinetry lines for all budgets.
