Lots of things going on over here in our neck of the woods. Four Generations One Roof is Changing. Evolving. Growing. We are now 3.5 generations! Say whaaa? Keep reading, I have some fun and exciting news!
Many of you have followed our story since the beginning almost 10 years ago when we became four generations living under one roof.
You have been there through the good, the bad and really ugly times of my life. Some of the ugly you don’t even know about and I am not sure I will ever share that part but you grew to love my grandparents, my parents and my son’s ideal living situation living with both his grandparents and great grandparents.
Earlier this month I shared on Instagram and Facebook that Jim had put his house up for sale in Foxboro, Ma and it sold in a millisecond with multiple offers and way over asking price. The real estate market is crazy right now and fortunately, Jim was able to capitalize on that.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that Jim proposed and not only did he sell his house but he now has joined our crazy living arrangement making us 3.5 generations!
The last 5 years have been a whirlwind. If you had told me 5 years ago in 2015, the next five years would include both my gram and my gramp passing away, my parents would have sold my childhood home of almost 30 years, all of us would move down the street 1.5 miles and purchased a new home, I would have gotten divorced, obtained a second job to support the new house and buy out your ex-husband, AND would be living in this “NEW house” with a “NEW amazing fiance,” in 2020, I would have said, “are you out of your freaking mind?”
Updated: My pushing through life and crossroads – (divorce and 2nd job)
That entire scenario sounds insane and like a dramatic movie to me. -ha
Jim and I laugh about the 3.5 generation scenario as neither one of us would have predicted this a few years ago considering we didn’t even know each other existed!
Sometimes I just shake my head when I think about all the crazy things that have happened in the last few years and fast forward to now, I feel so grateful. So grateful that everything happened the way it did (well not grateful that my grandparents passed away but you know what I mean….). So grateful for Jim and so grateful for our new chapter together.
I will share more details about everything soon but for now, I just wanted to fill you all in and welcome you to the newest chapter of my life. Stay tuned, we have lots of house projects coming to accommodate all these changes and just in case you are wondering, my son and parents are very excited about Jim joining our crazy clan and needless to say, my dad is REALLY happy I found someone other than him, to help me with blog projects 😂.
