Sharing our dream EasyClosets DIY Walk In Closet that we completed in a weekend. Are you ready for our walk in custom closet solution? Today I am bringing you up to speed on where we stand in the new year with our DIY walk-in closet and how you can design (for free!) your own dream closet.
EasyClosets Review
When Jim moved in, we spent some time trying to figure out where all of his stuff was going to go and on the priority list, was creating a new walk-in closet.
The coastal bedroom below is part of a Jack and Jill setup in our house so we decided to convert it to a walk-in closet.
The bedroom below has a large double patio door (to the left of the image below) that leads to a small iron balcony so we only had 2 walls to utilize.

EasyClosets vs California Closets
We partnered with EasyClosets to create a full diy walk-in closet along with retrofitting the existing closet in this room with a wood closet system. I had researched several closet options that were DIY friendly and affordable. Easy Closets was by far the best solution for our budget while not sacrificing quality. We were not interested in paying thousands in labor either to have California Closets install our new closet system so ultimately, we saved thousands on the cost by doing it ourselves.

There are so many walk in closet systems that it can be overwhelming when trying to pick a layout.
One of my favorite features of the Easy Closet website is the gallery page which helped me with ideas.

Ultimately, we decided to add a custom island similar to the one below to the center of the room allowing for more storage and organization.

Once the bedroom was emptied, we ripped up all of the carpet and installed engineered hardwood flooring.
