Today I’m sharing how to decorate a kitchen for Christmas and the best christmas kitchen decor ideas this holiday season. Fresh greenery and hanging wreaths on cabinet doors or chair backs are an easy way to add a Christmassy feel to a kitchen.
Our kitchen in our previous home has beautiful Super White Quartzite countertops and white shaker style cabinets.
Christmas Kitchen Decor Ideas
Christmas decor can be anything from wreaths, garland, ribbon, miniature Christmas trees, a red countertop appliance, a Christmas rug or Christmas hand towels.

1. Hang Christmas Wreaths: Counter stools & Chairs with Red Ribbon
Hanging Christmas wreaths on kitchen cabinets, barn doors, chairs or windows is a popular Christmas decorating idea. I used red ribbon to hang the wreaths but you can use any color depending on your Christmas theme.
2. Kitchen Island Vignette With Mini Christmas Tree
The mini boxwood Christmas tree is an affordable way to decorate a kitchen island and still leave room for eating.
3. Hang wreaths on windows and Interior Doors
I used 3M tape double sided hook to hang the wreaths on the window. The wire hook on the back of the real wreaths fits perfectly on the 3M hook.
I added a couple Christmas throw pillows to our mudroom wall bench (click here to see ur mudroom build) which look great!
4. Holiday Colored Small Appliances on Counter
Kitchen Christmas decor really pops against a white background. If you are not a fan of red accents, try blue, gold or green!
Typically my kitchen mixer is stored in a cabinet but during Christmas, I display it on the counter with white dishes and striped towels to add a pop of red to the kitchen.
Red striped hand towels or a jar filled candy canes are simple festive decorations in the kitchen.
A plate or bowl topped with red ornaments also is an easy Christmas decor idea or the kitchen.
5. Mix fresh Christmas Greenery with Faux greens
6. Add Inexpensive Faux Berry Picks to Greenery
Mixing faux berry picks, ornaments or pinecones with fresh greenery to embellish a wreath or garland.
7. Embellish with Pinecones & Greenery
Natural elements like greenery and pinecones are budget friendly Christmas decorations that can be placed anywhere in the kitchen.
8. Holiday Figurines and Snowglobes to Open Shelves
Christmas kitchen decor on a bookcase, open shelves, hot cocoa bar or extra countertop space is the perfect place to creating a Christmas scene with villages, holiday figurines and snowglobes.

Those barn doors get me everytime! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas Jessica!
Jessica! Your kitchen looks amazing!! Thank you so much for doing this fun tour with me and I hope we can do it again next year! Merry Christmas my friend!!! Xoxo
Merry Christmas and yes, we will definitely have to do another!! I really do love this little group we have.
I’m so glad your grandfather is okay! That’s so scary, but I’m glad he is recovering.
Also–those barn doors make my heart so happy. I LOVE barn doors in houses but don’t have anywhere to put them in my house and it makes me so sad. 🙁 Your kitchen looks so amazing with all the pops of red and green.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you Megan!!! I appreciate your kind words! Merry Christmas to you too!!
You had me at wreaths. And barn doors! It’s just so beautiful and inviting. So fun to do this with you today.
Thank you Courtney and you too!!!!
It’s all looking so merry & bright!! Must be a such a pleasure to decorate that new kitchen. It’s so pretty Jessica.
Hope Gramps is feeling much better today.

This kitchen is beautiful! Do you all share this kitchen or do you have three kitchens? Do you frequently eat together? How do you share or determine cooking duties?
Hi Karen! We have another kitchen and we do a Saturday night dinner together as a family (all four generations). Between work schedules, kids sports and my grandfather insisting he eat at 5pm SHARP, we all kind of do our own thing during the week. Although many times during the week, my son, my dad and me will eat together as my mom may work late. My gram and gramp eat together b/c eating at 5pm sharp isn’t practical for anyone except them! haha.
The kitchen is just as wonderful as the other rooms. You have everything in just the right amount which is not an easy task. I am grateful to hear that your Grandfather is doing okay. I also went to the other ladies blogs and it was so enjoyable to see how differently things look in different settings. Each and everyone made my heat leap. The homes were fabulous also. TFS.
Thanks Jaunita! Glad you enjoyed our little tour and friends as well. Have a great day!
Your kitchen looks beautiful all dressed up for Christmas!!
EXCELLENT!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I really enjoy your blog.
Thanks so much Ginny! Merry Christmas to you too!!!
I love how open and big your kitchen is now and those barn doors…don’t even get me started on my love for them! All your festive touches from those cute pillows to the chair wreaths make this the perfect family holiday setting. I hope your gramps is doing better today too! And thank you for sending your readers off to me with such a huge compliment!
Merry Christmas!
xoxo
Merry Christmas !!
Aww thanks Shauna! 🙂 Knock on Wood, he is good today!
So glad your grandfather is okay– that is scary! Your kitchen is so beautiful, and I love how you’ve decked it out for the holidays! It was so fun being “on tour” with you this week! Have a wonderful weekend!

Jessica – Everything is ready for Christmas. My wish is to see you walk down the stairs in a beautiful bridal dress of your choice. The home is prepared for this, no extra decorating needed and we would all cheer for the two of you.
Blessings and good health .
Thank you Diana!
