If you’re looking for the perfect pure white to use in your home, Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace is the perfect clean white with very little undertones. It’s perfect for your living room, dining room, trim color, and more! Learn more in this Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace review.
As one of the most popular white paint colors, Chantilly Lace OC-65 is a fantastic option for truly every home. Unlike other whites with obvious undertones, BM Chantilly Lace is almost pure white.
It has very, very subtle yellow-green undertones you’ll barely notice, technically making it a cool white. Really though, it is so neutral that it can be used in nearly any space and has been beloved by interior decorators for years!
Let’s take a tour inside our lake house and see why Chantilly Lace is one of the best interior paint colors.
Below is a photo of our lake house living room and kitchen the day we bought the house. It was super cute as it was but we ultimately decided to modernize and brighten it up.
We wanted less of a cabin feel and a more modern updated look which the superhero of white paint, Chantilly Lace, swooped in and saved the day!
The white paint was a game changer for this entire house.
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace Paint Review
I couldn’t believe how well Chantilly white updated the space! It was absolutely the right white paint color, and you can see we used it on the cabinets, ceilings, and walls for a cozy, coastal look.
Since this white has very subtle cool tones, it pairs perfectly with the wooden beams and blue undertones in the fabric and decor. It really shines in natural light and will never look yellow, so it’s an excellent choice for people who prefer a brighter white color.
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace OC-65 Color Review
Did you know this is one of the most popular colors at Benjamin Moore paints? It’s been a great choice for years and is one of the best white paint colors on the market.
LRV: 90.04
Undertones: Yellow-Green
Collection: Off-White
Other Names: 2121-70
Since the LRV of Chantilly Lace is so high, it’s naturally reflective and will open up any space. It’s perfect for white walls that aren’t too white while still adding a fresh look.
With a minimal yellow-green undertone, this white really toes the line between cool and warm. That tiny bit of green makes it a cool tone, but yellow itself can be warm or cool. That’s part of why this is one of the most popular whites: it fits both warm and cool homes in the best way possible.
What are the undertones of Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace?
Chantilly Lace has slightly cool undertones with a touch of yellow and green, but with a high LRV, it’s a great bright white that can open up any space. Although technically it may be a cool white, the undertones are so minimal that it’s really flexible and can be used in a variety of spaces.
Which colors go best with Chantilly Lace?
As a bright white with minimal undertones, Chantilly Lace plays pretty nicely with different colors, which is why it’s one of design professionals’ favorite white paint colors!

You will notice below that Chantilly Lace coordinates perfectly with the navy checked bedding in one of our bedrooms at the lake house. It’s bright, crisp and perfect for a nautical themed bedroom.
Best Rooms & Uses for Chantilly Lace Benjamin Moore
This crisp white adds so much light and can be used throughout your whole house either as a wall color or to use on trim and cabinetry! It can be used in your:
- Living Room
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Laundry Room
- Bedroom
- Dining Room
- Office
You can see in our remodel that we even used this paint for our ceiling colors! It’s one of the best true whites because it can be used in all of these different ways without ever being too bright.
Our bathroom below at our lake house was also dark and dreary before we remodeled and carrying Chantilly Lace to the bathroom walls and ceiling was a game changer for this small bathroom. If you haven’t seen the bathroom before, be sure to click through this post, small bathroom remodel on a budget.
What color kitchen cabinets go with Chantilly Lace?
As you can see in our remodel, our kitchen cabinets are stock cabinets and a factory white (I’m not sure of the name) and similar to the walls and ceilings – all Chantilly Lace! Our kitchen cabinets were existing so we needed to find a white that was cool toned (like our cabinets) yet flow seamlessly.
Because of its simplicity and high LRV, Chantilly Lace can be paired with a variety of other colors.
It’d look lovely with Gothic Green, Oxford Gray, or Edgecomb Gray, too.
Is Chantilly Lace good in north-facing rooms?
Although this paint looks great in pretty much any space, it’s a little trickier to use in north-facing rooms, which are naturally darker and gray. You may notice this color looking a little more flat and gray than in south-facing rooms.
If you’re painting a large, prominent room with north-facing light, you may want to choose a white that’s more reflective (like Sherwin Williams High Reflective White) or has slightly warm undertones.
Don’t forget!
Any paint color will look different depending on the lighting conditions. It’s always best to get a paint sample and watch it throughout the day to see how it would really work in your space.
Since the lake house is south-facing, this is the perfect white paint color and makes the whole living area glow!
If you’re already painting the rest of your room this color, you can offset any coolness by using light bulbs around the 3300-3700K range, which helps to maintain that bright white color.
Is Chantilly Lace whiter than Super White?
Super White is one of the most popular cool whites, but it’s actually slightly darker than CL. With an LRV of 87.36, it’s just a little less reflective than the Chantilly Lace paint color and has mild gray undertones. In fact, Super White is best paired with other grays and cool colors, like Hale Navy, Juneau Spring, and Pure White.
Is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace warm or cool?
With very minimal yellow undertones, Chantilly Lace is a cool white that’s still very light and bright without being too crisp. Since it has a high light reflectance value, it’s perfect for brightening up a space and is incredibly popular with interior designers.
You can see above how well this bright white paint opens up this formerly dark and dated living area! It adds so much light without making the room feel cold.
Below, you will notice how well Chantilly Lace pairs with Topsail which is a beautiful blue green color by Sherwin Williams. We added board and batten to all of our bedroom walls at the lake house and CL was absolutely the best paint choice.

Does Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace look yellow?
Although there is just a tinge of yellow in this white, it’s really so bright that you don’t usually notice many undertones. You might notice a little yellow if you use warm whites or yellows on your trim or furnishings or if you have really warm indoor lighting. We painted everything Chantilly Lace including our doors and trim.
- Sherwin Williams Westhighland White (a neutral white with a little warmth)
- Sherwin Williams Sea Salt (a beautiful blue green)
- Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray (the color we used in our kitchen renovation)
- Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace (a cool white we used at our lake house)
- Benjamin Moore Advance Paint (best kitchen cabinet paint)
