I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day. We all went to brunch yesterday and enjoyed a delicious meal and then spent the day at the camp boating and relaxing. Tomorrow is the last day of school for us so hoping to spend more time at the lake. Today, I wanted to share some summer decorating updates in our family room and hopefully inspire you to add some summer elements to your home. Some of you know that we partnered with Wayfair to share quick fun decorating video tutorials and I would love for you to take a look at our recent video that discusses mixing and matching decorating accessories in your home. You can watch that video here.
I decided to mix in a bunch of blue, green and tan/gold pillows this summer to give a coastal vibe. The rattan tray filled with books and candle sticks helps hide the everyday necessities like tv remotes and coasters.
Decorating with coastal themed accents such as this adorable turtle says summer all day long. Of course, mixing in fresh hydrangeas is a great way to introduce life into the space.
Mixing and matching neutral throw pillows can be kind of a challenge especially if you have many bold colors. I try to pick two base colors and stay within that color family.
Adding a basket on your coffee table is a great way to keep items organized.

Is the sectional from Wayfair as well?
The sectional is a few years old and was purchased from a local furniture store in Massachusetts. I actually have post coming in 2 weeks showing a new sofa from Wayfair 🙂 Stay tuned!
Waiting for your post with new sofa:)
Everything looks great! I never thought about using a basket on the table before. We could definitely use that to keep things looking neat and tidy. Thanks for the idea.
