Do you have a teen girl in your life? I am going to show you how to create a sophisticated girls bedroom teen makeover that is affordable and gorgeous. This bedroom was the girls bedroom at our old house. You can see the gutting of the room (including the carpet) here.
Twin Teen Girl Room Ideas
Girls bedroom before:
The walls are painted a light green color called “green trance” by Sherwin-Williams. I chose their Emerald Interior line in Satin finish. The light green color lends an elegant and sophisticated feel to the girls bedroom.

Before:
The gray fabric twin tufted headboards from Wayfair were the perfect choice for the bedroom. The room is small so we wanted something without a footboard to save room.
Before:
Process:
We ripped up the old carpet and Mohawk carpet was generous enough to donate a beautiful soft plush carpet from their Smartstrand Forever Clean line. The color we chose is called Sandcastle and it’s absolutely perfect. Not to tan but not to light. A couple of the features that I love about this carpet is that is durable, soft and stain resistant. Perfect for kids and pets.
Teenage Girl Bedroom Ideas
The striped drapes, both bed throws, light blue quilts and all throw pillows are from HomeGoods.
The tight looped carpet offers the texture I was looking for on the floor.
Isn’t this dusty rose colored silk wreath gorgeous?

The white dresser (similar) is one of my favorite pieces in the room. It offers tons of storage and the quality is amazing. It is slightly distressed which offers a nice contrast with the other white neutral bedding in the room.
I originally planned to hang a mirror above the dresser but came across these two beautiful canvas prints at HomeGoods and decided to pair them together as a focal point.
I think the A & G monogram letters ad a nice touch for the girls initials and add a youthful accent to the girls bedroom. I struggled with this room as I didn’t want it to look too “adult” if that makes any sense.

The oversized white night table (similar) from Joss & Main was the icing on the cake. I searched high and low for a night table that would be big enough to share between the two beds. At first I planned on each girl having their own night table but I couldn’t get the beds arranged so it looked aesthetically pleasing so once I decided to try a large night table vs. two smaller ones, things started to come together.
The table overs closed storage as well as a large area below for trendy boxes filled with goodies.

WOW, you really nailed this makeover! VERY NICE. I really admire your generational home you all share. What great memories, traditions and heirlooms you are all sharing. Continue to enjoy life.
Love this space, Jessica! It just couldn’t be more perfect!! And I bet your girls are thrilled with what their sweet mama did to make it so beautiful? Excellent job!!!
Hey Nancy! Hope you are doing well! Yes, the mirror is from Ballard Designs. I will be posting a source post in a week or so with links to all the products in the room too. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Looks beautiful! Can you tell me the paint color? I am trying to find a soft green for my teenage daughter’s room and afraid it will look like a nursery if I don’t pick carefully. Thanks!
The room looks beautiful. I’m trying to get my girls’ room into “teen” mode now that my oldest is turning 12. My second daughter is 9 1/2. Not teens, but not babies. I’m having trouble deciding what to do with their toys though. I don’t see any storage in this room other than the two boxes. What do your kids do with their “stuff”? My girls have one small closet to share so only hanging clothes and their laundry basket fit in there. Thank you!
Hi, this room is for my stepdaughter’s who visit on weekends so they don’t require as much storage as they would at their mom’s but my son has under storage boxes that are on wheels that are AMAZING! Pretty trunks at the foot of the beds would also be fabulous and of course, a well organized closet full of bins/baskets ect. if space allows helps too 😉 One thing I have in my son’s room (there is only one bed so there is more space) is a bookcase that has baskets and boxes for all his small toys / stuff. Hope that helps 🙂
Love all of it.. great job. Love the colors.
Thanks Gail!
