Schlage Door WiFi Connectivity Makeover

Featuring  built-in WiFi connectivity, Schlage Encode is the brand’s next-generation smart lock to enable secure remote access from anywhere, without the need for a hub.

It can be set-up and managed via the Schlage Home or Key by Amazon apps.

You can  also choose to add an Amazon Cloud Cam via the Key Smart Lock Kit to monitor entries and opt-in to in-home deliveries, but it is not required for the Schlage Encode to work with the Key app.

One of my favorite features is the ability to manage multiple guest access, by creating up to 100 unique codes for recurring, temporary or permanent access. This means that you can create codes for certain people with set date ranges.

The app will also send you notifications when a code is used and you can easily check the history.

Another great feature is you can use Google Assistant to control your lock with your voice.

When paired with the Schlage Home app, you can lock your door and check the status of the door by simply using your voice. Google Assistant is only compatible with Schlage Encode™ via the Schlage Home app.

A few other key features are:

1. 1. 1. Optional in-home delivery for Prime members in eligible areas with the addition of the Amazon Cloud Cam when setup with the Key app.
      2. Voice assistant compatibility via Amazon Alexa. Customers enable the Key skill for Alexa and ask Alexa to lock their door and check the status of their door. Homeowners can enable “Unlock by Voice” in the Alexa App, which requires a spoken 4-digit code when unlocking Schlage Encode™.
      3. The lock’s integration with Key enables users to operate their deadbolt in concert with Ring video doorbells and cameras, streamlining control of their home’s security. Ring customers will now be able to lock and unlock their door directly from the Live View of their camera in the Ring app. So, for example, when the dog sitter arrives and chimes a Ring Video Doorbell, customers can pull up the live feed, verify it’s the sitter, and unlock their Schlage Encode™ deadbolt with the push of a button right in the Ring app. Schlage Encode™ deadbolts are compatible with Ring cameras when set up via the Key app.

 

Here is the garage door before.

Here is the garage door after. I took some time and washed the stucco, and touched up the knicks on the door with stain.

The door really needs to be fully sanded and restained but for now, the refresh worked perfectly.

I found the Schlage Encode™ Smart WiFi Deadbolt to be really easy to install and it comes in a variety of trims and finishes. I love the idea of being able to create multiple codes for different cases such as traveling, rental, guests, dog walker, etc.

Honestly, this deadbolt provides so many options and it looks great too! Our side entrance garage door makeover was completed with a cute door wreath and new welcome mat. We are so happy with our Side Entrance Garage Door Makeover with Schlage.
