The police station is coming along nicely and today I wanted to share some fun moments while we were painting the break room. If you want to catch up on this project, be sure to read our post on “Police Station Makeover – community service project for 2016” and “emptying the break room.” As you may know, this project is sponsored by Sherwin-Williams and Wayfair as part of the National Painting Week Campaign coming up May 22 – 30th. So lets get painting shall we?

We picked the Sherwin-Williams color Topsail for the walls and Extra White for the trim and doors.

Sergeant Nunnemacher is kind of a character.

We certainly had our work cut out for ourselves.

These ladies, Denise, Maureen and Kathy were my cheerleaders the whole way.

Here is Kathy below sitting in a spot that is also in need of a serious makeover. Do you see that blue phone on the wall? It reminds me of the phone we had hanging on our kitchen wall when I was a kid.

Once all the walls were patched, we were ready to go.

Isn’t it amazing what a coat of white paint will do?

Officer Fortunato, who loves popcorn by the way, was pretty happy the walls were getting painted.

The light blue walls really brightened up the space.

It took about two full days to get the room painted.

Thanks to the Chief for helping me get the room painted. Don’t tell him but he was kind of helpful :).

This is what it looked like after I washed it. Fresh white trim is a beautiful thing.

The project is well underway and the products have started to arrive. I can’t wait to show you the new office chairs from Wayfair, especially the red leather one!

  1. This looks so much more inhabitable than the “before”! I think it would have made me depressed if I had to use then. You and the officers are doing a fantastic job…keep them coming and TFS.
