My {comical} morning with my gram in the lingerie department

I spent this morning shopping with my gram for “personal” items. One afternoon last week, I was working on reupholstering my couch when I could hear “loud” voices coming from the garage. It was my grandparents having a “squabble” . Apparently my gram had just tortured my gramp for an hour in the bra isle of Walmart. For those of you who know my gramp, you know he has zero patience and can get cranky fast. Needless to say, he was annoyed because she couldn’t find one and she was equally annoyed at the thought of going with him again to another store. So I volunteered to take her shopping. Enter the “boat”,
My gram has never had her license so my gramp always drives. This car is his baby and he is very “protective” over his things. My gram prefers this car so of course, I had to drive the boat. Just picture sitting on the largest couch on the planet with a steering wheel in the middle. You get my drift?
We made the trip and she is now wondering why I am taking pictures. I told her I thought we should blog our quality time together 🙂
She thinks I am crazy but I think she kinda likes the blog. She said I could post our bra trip! {hehe} I kinda had some fun with her, I brought her some items to try on and she was less than pleased. When I brought her the flowered one, she said no, my gramp would pass out.
A new night shirt. She was feeling sassy today 🙂
We definitely had some fun and the best thing was the car made it back in the garage safe and sound. Phewwwww!
Ps. all her test results came back ok, no cancer….just old age.

Glad her test results came back okay (and glad you got her permission to post about bra shopping, I was wondering how she'd feel if she knew you'd posted about it, and then I saw you had her blessing!) 🙂
So glad to hear that she's ok! Sounds like a fun trip! Bra shopping can be so horrible, so it must be nice for her to have you come along 🙂
Hee hee, I can't imagine grandma is any more difficult than shopping with my teen daughters! Both are stubborn and opinionated… but I wouldn't miss it for the world! You made me laugh tonight (as you always do, girl!). You are a great granddaughter!

Thanks for the laugh you made my day…I never knew my grandparents..you are so blessed..and they sound like a hoot..Cheers Frances
I think it's great that you got to take her shopping, but most of all that you had fun together! It's nice being able to laugh about the silly things and buy something practical at the same time! 🙂
Thank you Misti! We did have fun 🙂
Aww! Your grandma seems so precious! That seems like such a fun day! 🙂
Thank you Ashley 🙂
Hi Jessica, I just came across your blog and I'm so glad I did. I was laughing at the image of you sitting in your gramps boat car. I could totally relate as I had a boat car of my own growing up and I had to prop cushions just to see over the steering wheel. BTW your grams is so cute, glad to hear she is okay! New follower here 🙂
What a fun day you had with your Grandma! I love that you ate able to share those special moments. I love that she is into your blog, she sounds like an amazing woman.
Too much fun! So glad your grandma is okay. This reminds me off a trip shopping for night gown with my 72 year old mother in law. She was going on am over night trip with her man friend of the past 2 years, to visit her brother in his new digs at an assisted living center. Oh I had so much fun helping, and many laughs at my attemps to find seductive appropriate clothing for her. We had so much fun and some great memories. It took us 3 shopping trips to complete the mission.
First time visiting your site and I laughed out loud at the “boat” comment. Maybe it’s an “old person” thing. My granddaddy always thought the bigger and heavier it was (this applies to furniture also) the better it must be. I swear we used to refer to their car as “the boat,” too!!
Thanks for the laugh tonight. It brought back great memories of my grandparents. Cherish them while they are here!!
And blessings to you for living with all the family under one roof!
This is the most adorable thing I’ve ever read! Glad it went well 🙂
