Today I wanted to share this gorgeous dining table that I created on a recent HomeGoods project. Things have been a little busy around here with school being out and vacations. I sometimes feel like I am barely keeping my head above water.  Working from home while school is out is proving to be a bit of a challenge.-ha  Anyway, back to the dining table. I actually created this table during the Spring (hence the little bunny in the background) and realized I hadn’t shared it here on the blog.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts where I work for HomeGoods, I literally shop til I drop buying every HomeGoods item under the sun to create my spaces. It’s a pretty fun job.  I remember this shoot like it was yesterday because I was trying to find suitable placemats and kept coming up short on ideas. I wanted something different and unique and then the cutting boards basically jumped off the shelf at me and said, “what about us?” The thing about setting a table is you don’t have to follow “traditional” rules. I mean, not everyone has the budget to buy all new matching dishes, placemats ect. So why not use something flat you have in your kitchen as a placemat? Use a bunch dishes that you already may have? This design shows that you can mix and match dishware and it still can look good. If you have a bunch of cutting boards, use them! The cutting boards don’t all need to match either. For me it’s all about what you love and maybe breaking a few rules along the way.

A casual dining table that looks pretty is my kind of style. If you read my post about this centerpiece, you know that I took a candleholder from HomeGoods and hammered out the candles, added drinking glasses as my vases and simply added flowers. A quick DIY project that turned into an amazing focal point.

Be sure to head over and visit me on the HomeGoods blog where I am sharing exactly how to get this look. I am sharing easy tips and tricks to mix and match dishware to achieve a cohesive and gorgeous dining table. Thank you so much to HomeGoods and photographer Adam Krauth for letting me use these photo’s. Disclosure: I am compensated by HomeGoods to design these spaces but not required to share them on my blog. I do because I love Homegoods and love how the spaces turned out. All opinions and words are 100% my own.
