Painted pottery planters

This past weekend was beautiful here in New England and it was a perfect time to get the planters out of the shed and cleaned up.  I have so many mis-matched planters I decided to give them a new look with some paint. Kate at Centsational Girl did a great post last week on “dipped” painted items and I decided to try the technique on a bunch of my old planters. The dipped trend is simply a two toned look. She has some great inspiration pictures, so be sure to check it out.

I used painters tape to mark where I wanted the colors to stop and start.

This entire project took about 30 minutes. Quick and easy!

Painted pottery planters can quickly change the look of a space. Bright bold vibrant colors or more subdued neutral colors, either way, your space will look beautiful. The paint colors that I used here are Benjamin Moore’s “decorators white” and Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint “french linen”. What planters do you have hanging around your house you could paint? I am working on sprucing up our foyer where these lovely’s will live so I hope to have before and after photo’s to share with you soon.

  1. Hi Jessica! I love your pots! I need to do that to my collection of old, mismatched ones. It makes them look so cohesive that way. I’ll have to check out the tutorial on how to do it. Thanks for sharing!
