Blue bathroom Christmas update + bluetooth fan that streams music

Last year we renovated our blue bathroom which encompassed a large pink tub and tile surround. We completely gutted the bathroom by removing the tub and added a shower stall and closet. One of the items we didn’t replace was the bathroom fan. The fan is over 30 years old and to say it is outdated is being kind.  When I was contacted by Homewerks Worldwide asking if we would like to update one of our bathrooms using their new bluetooth enabled bathroom fan that streamed music wirelessly, I literally jumped at the chance. I was provided a complimentary fan as well as compensation for this post but rest assured, as you will see below, this fan is a rockstar and super stylish.

 

Here is the old fan from over 30 years ago and the removal of a very old, very dirty fan. I was mortified by the amount of dirt and dust under this thing and the rusted metal surround was pretty nasty. My dad said, lets get another one of those and replace the other bathroom fan as well. Ya think dad? My brother helped me remove the old fan and install the new one.

The installation of this fan required the install to be done from the crawl space attic above and it was impossible to shoot pictures of the install. You will find this video tutorial super helpful referencing installation. If you are removing an old fan, you will need to custom fit by making the hole larger by cutting the sheetrock or patching a hole that is to large which was our case.  My husband is so excited that he can play his tunes from his iphone while getting ready for work.

Not only is this fan stylish and a drastic improvement from the older one, but the bluetooth feature is a major bonus. I had never heard of a fan that played music before! Watch this quick video and you will see what I mean.

Since we updated the fan, I decided it was time to give the space a blue bathroom spruce up for the holidays. Here is a quick look at the bathroom before we renovated it last year. You can find the full bathroom reveal from last year here.

This bathroom is incredibly difficult to shoot pictures as there is minimal natural light and getting an entire room shot is only possible by me dangling off the stairway in the hallway with my tripod. I wish I had a picture to show you :).

Some of the items in this update are from Home Goods and some are ones I left over from last year.

I am loving the blue colors this year for Christmas so I decided to incorporate a few in this bathroom. Simple, casual and elegant was the look I was going after.

The new white fan ties in perfectly with the blue bathroom theme and I think this is probably my husbands favorite blog project yet. He got a fan that sings, he is pretty happy :).
