Earlier this year, we introduced our kitchen page and it was kind of surprising how popular our food posts became. Living with four generations of family under one roof poses many challenges but one thing we have down pat…..is our meals. We love to eat! In all seriousness, we started sharing our meals and my gram’s baked treats and for some reason, many of you love to see what we eat. Some of our most popular posts are food ones. Many times, we eat together and other times, we eat on our own schedule. For the most part, each family is responsible for “their” family when it comes to meals. If we eat together, we often do potluck and we (me, my mom and gram) all contribute.  Today I wanted to share our blackened chicken dinner that I made featuring fresh products from Blue Apron. NEVER in a million years when I started sharing our dinners, did I think food brands would reach out for us to try their products. I was thrilled to give Blue Apron a try.

If you are not familiar with Blue Apron, they allow you to create gourmet chef-designed meals at home. Blue Apron delivers all the farm-fresh ingredients you need, right to your doorstep, in exactly the right proportions. No trips to the grocery store and no waste from unused ingredients. I simply went to the Blue Apron site and filled out my profile. By completing your profile, you can be sure to only receive products and ingredients that you want. For example, if you don’t like lamb, you just click “don’t send me lamb.” It’s so simple! They have everything from gluten sensitivity, vegetarian ect. meals all pre-planned and available for you to choose from. I signed up to receive 2 family meals per week. They surprise you with what is sent and I will admit, I was so excited to see the inside of the box once it arrived.

All the produce, meat and ingredients came nicely packaged in a freezer tight box. Everything was SO fresh and tasted amazing. As you can see above, all the items are conveniently marked and the colorful brochure explains the directions as well as the details on each ingredient. Before I committed to the campaign, I watched this 40 second video about how Blue Apron works and yes, it sold me!

The chicken dinner that I made was so good! Chicken, zucchini, corn and fresh seasonings made up our Friday night dinner and the best part, it only took about 35 minutes to make.

Some of the key features that excited me are they are always adding new items and menus to the site. The meals are affordable and are offered in a single (2 person )or family (4 person) plan. There is absolutely no commitment. You can skip weeks and there is no penalty. One of the best features is that your food will stay cold for hours once it’s delivered so you don’t need to worry about being home on the day it’s delivered. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Blue Apron. The meals that I received were delicious and everything was so fresh. I felt like a real gourmet cook while preparing our dinner. Be sure to check out these delicious recipes as well. I would love to try out the Tomato-Basil Burger and Seared Cod & Fergola Sarda.
