I spent last weekend working on our laundry room and adding fun autumn elements to our covered porch. We only have a couple more weeks until it starts to get really cold here but in the meantime, I still hang out on our porch. I decided to add mums and gourds around the furniture as well as a few comfy autumn pillows.
I enjoy sitting out here during the day after school while my son plays.
Isn’t it amazing how a few seasonal items can change the look of a space? Here is our covered porch just a few weeks ago during summer.
Gourds, pumpkins, kale and squash are perfect for adding around potted mums.
You can achieve this simple look very easily. Find a comfy chair, stool or bench and add mums, ornamental gourds and pumpkins. I like to keep stay within the same color family. In this case, I wanted a warm and inviting feel. My furniture was already brown (warm toned) so I decided to go with red mums. Yellow mums would have worked as well.
In the next couple weeks, we will be putting away the outdoor furniture and moving it to the shed in preparation for winter. I will be enjoying the fall weather while it’s here! If you are looking for more autumn inspiration, check out our Fall Home Tour as well as our mini-foyer harvest update.
