Want to lose weight and gain energy by eating? My husband is crushing it with an almost 12 lb weight loss and guess what, he is a type 1 diabetic! Many of you who follow me on Instagram (follow me on Instagram to see our real time stories) wondering what we are doing to lose weight and gain energy together.
This is kind of off topic from what we have shared for the last 7 years here on our blog and I know many of you, come to our blog for other topics such as “affordable home decor and styling tips” – “DIY home projects” – “Family Recipes” and “Multigenerational Living,” this post is also for you, just in case you are struggling in the health area like we were.
While my husband was working, I hosted an amazing party this past Thursday night for the nutrition program we are using and I wish all of you could have come!
Keep reading, I think I have a solution where you can join us virtually at our next party. I haven’t worked out all the particulars but I think with your help, we can make it happen! My husband has already lost almost 12 lbs on the program and his words all the time are, “what is going on? I have never eaten so much and actually lost weight!”
My husband is a diabetic (type 1) and the meal replacement shakes (you replace two meals of your choice each day) are low glycemic, satisfying and taste amazing.
I never in a million years thought I would be hosting a party that was related to health and wellness. I mean, I was the furthest human on the planet, prior to this nutrition program, that would ever be interested in sharing anything related to health.
I knew nothing about nutrition, nothing about losing weight, nothing about gaining back lost energy, nothing about gaining lean muscle and nothing about sleeping better. I certainly knew nothing about the unbelievable opportunity to make a little side income either.
If you read my blog post, how I lost 10 lbs by eating food, you know that the success is 100% from nourishing my body and not depriving it. I was guilty of skipping meals, eating junk food 24/7 and then eating everything except the kitchen sink by 4pm.
I had no energy, wanted to take naps in the middle of the day and was hanging on by a thread trying to be the best mom, work full time and keep up with the household duties.
Once I started putting these products in my body (which are 100% food based, gluten/soy/GMO free with dairy free options), my body woke up. Within a very short period I started feeling awake. More clarity, my mom fog brain had lessened, I was energized and feeling really good!

The past few months, I started sharing health and wellness not so much to “rank in SEO (a fancy term for being found on google) but to share another part of our life that may help others in the same boat we were in.
Our blog has always been about sharing our home and our lives in an effort to teach and share how we did something. Most of you landed on our blog at one point or another probably from googling, searching Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram or simply referred by another reader and most likely, you stayed and perused because we shared something that worked for us that resonated with you.
Whether it be a tutorial on how to reupholster a chair, decorate a room on a budget, a family recipe favorite or how my grandfather flipped out on my grandmother 😂, you found us because we shared something.
Our health and wellness journey is really no different than probably many of yours. We decided to share our story and what is working for us because, well, that’s what we do! Never in a million years did I think I would finally lose my 10 pounds and find my energy from shakes that I just incorporate with my daily food.
We share, ideas, tutorials, tips, tricks and products we love. We share what works for us in hopes that it may help someone. We share tutorials like, how to build a lattice privacy screen to hide an AC or garbage can, we share how to make the best shepherd’s pie recipe that will literally melt in your mouth, is affordable and fast to make.

I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to share this side of our life but I have realized, based on all the great feedback from many of you, that this side of our life is a lot like many of yours!
So many, just like us, are struggling with what to eat, how much to eat, having no energy, want to lose weight, need to sleep better and many, need a way to make a side income. My blog is my full time job and that is how I help contribute financially to our family. I decided that diversifying my income was a smart idea and I absolutely love sharing with people, so this opportunity was a perfect fit. I couldn’t be happier that this is working for us! I don’t look at myself in the mirror anymore and say, “I will start tomorrow, I will research what to eat tomorrow, I will talk to the doctor about my lack of energy tomorrow, I will eat better tomorrow, I will exercise starting tomorrow.” It’s such an awesome feeling too when people I have shared this program with, text me mind blowing messages saying,
“Jessica, I can’t believe I lost 10 lbs,”
“Jessica, my husband has lost 30 lbs,”
“Jessica, I feel amazing!”
“Jessica, I have never slept better!”
I wanted to figure out a way to have all of you, join our parties or information sessions live. If you read a couple days ago about, “my grandfather’s 89th birthday celebration,”, you saw that I shared my personal Facebook Page (send me a friend request or follow me) is often public as a way to have more of our Four Generations One Roof posts seen on Facebook.
A lot of you saw that I posted about the party and messaged saying you wished you could come. Living on the other side of the country made that difficult so I am thinking about having video group calls with whoever wants to hear more information about the program.
