TRY THIS: Make Your Own Planter Boxes

I get beyond excited every spring when the home and garden stores start rolling out the flowering plants.  Even if we’re still getting frost at night, just seeing those shelves full of pretty flowers gives me hope for warm days and sunny skies.  Besides that, I love dressing up our porches and yard with plants and flowers, so it’s fun to imagine which colors and plants we want to try this year.

You don’t have to hire a landscape architect or tear up the lawn to be able to use flowering plants to your advantage.  Some colorful blooms spilling out of a few containers here and there can go a long way (and cost way less than a big remodel!) to adding curb appeal to your home.  There’s no need to make a big investment in containers, thanks to these terrific DIY options.  Click on the links below to find out how you can build, repurpose, repaint, or recycle materials to make your own planter boxes this spring.
