My trip to the Restoration Hardware Outlet Boston

Restoration Hardware is a store that I literally could spend hours in dreaming about how to incorporate their unique industrial style with my love for modern cottage. The prices are normally out of my budget but did you know they have outlet stores in certain locations? We are fortunate enough to have one outside of Boston in Wrentham Ma, about an hour from our house. I recently took a trip in hopes to find a media console for our study, which it was my lucky day……I found the exact one I loved at a 60% discount because of a scratch.

Here is the media console (above) behind our sofa in our living room at our old house.
Visiting the Restoration Hardware store is an event! There is a Cracker Barrel Restaurant in the same plaza (and by the way – the entire Wrentham Outlet Mall – Village filled with every brand possible for amazing shopping!) along with several other restaurants.
The warehouse is very large and filled with goodies from RH at a fraction of the cost.
What does Restoration Hardware Outlet have for products?
Everything from bathroom vanities to small accessory items. Restoration Hardware is typically known for being an upscale home goods brand featuring chic, timeless furniture, lighting, textiles and tableware. They specialize in luxury high end home decor and furnishings but you can definitely get the look by starting at one of their outlet centers.
What’s so special about Restoration Hardware? For me personally, I love the distressed light fabrics paired with the dark industrial style pieces. I like mixing in elements from the store with a little farmhouse and modern features as too much “Restoration Hardware” can get “cold” looking quick. I’m not saying that is a bad thing but for me, I like a mix in this style with modern and farmhouse.
If you want to purchase something large, they will hold the item for up to 48 hours (may vary by location) so you can make arrangements to get it home. Bring a truck if you have one! There may also be an option for a Restoration Hardware Outlet delivery but this particular trip I made, delivery was not an option. Some locations do offer delivery.
Restoration Hardware Outlet Locations
There are several Restoration Hardware Outlet locations all over the country. We are lucky that we have the Restoration Hardware Outlet in Connecticut and Massachusetts, both within driving distance from our house.
I also recently learned that a NEW Restoration Hardware Outlet is opening up at Patriots Place in Foxboro Massachusetts next year. I believe they will be taking over the location where the Christmas Tree Shops and Bed Bath and Beyond were.
The Restoration Hardware in Connecticut, located at 310 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich CT, is over 2 hours from my house but definitely could be a stop along the way to New York!
I was shocked at the huge discounts. We are not talking 10 or 20% off. More like 45-60% off. Insane!
There were definitely items that I felt were still priced pretty high but for the most part, you can definitely find deals.
Dishes. Dishes and more dishes!
Baskets for $20 anyone?
Restoration Hardware Outlet Boston
Some of the items at Restoration Hardware Outlet are a bit too industrial for my taste but I often can find pieces to mix in with our current modern cottage design at our home.
I ended up getting this metal media console below for over half off the retail price. It worked perfectly for storing kids games, baskets full of play dough and smaller superhero figurines.
Here is a picture of the study decorated for Christmas with the media console from a previous Christmas.
What style is Restoration Hardware?
I would characterize the Restoration Hardware style more of a shabby chic style which features distressed furniture and worn-looking fabrics with vintage elements like antique mirrors or chandeliers. A big large oversized gold mirror is considered a great starting point if you are trying to get the Restoration Hardware look.
What is the deal with Restoration Hardware membership?
RH now has a membership program at their outlets and regular stores. For $175 a year, members get 25% off regular pricing and 20% off clearance/sale items plus early access to events and complimentary design consulting. At first I was like, why on earth would they do this but if you spend a decent amount of money there a year, it makes sense. It’s very similar to the Amazon Prime Membership. If you buy from them regularly, the membership fee makes total sense to pay! You will need to weigh the pros and cons for your own personal situation to see if paying the fee makes sense.
What is the difference between Restoration Hardware and Restoration Hardware Outlet
Restoration hardware is the clearance store for everything that didn’t sell or they made too much of that was originally in the regular store. Often times, you will find slightly damaged (sometimes very damaged so look closely) products at a great price. If you are crafty or can do DIY project, many items are easily fixed and for the price, it’s worth it!
I have some exciting news to share soon about Home Goods and my updated Design Portfolio so stay tuned for that. If you haven’t been to a restoration hardware outlet or checked out the Restoration Hardware Outlet online, look to see if there is a location in your area. You won’t be sorry!

Thanks for taking me with you on your RH outlet trip! I’m so jealous we don’t have one closer! But now I’m thinking the 2 hours trip could totally be worth it.
I bet it would be! 🙂
I wonder if we have one of those near us… My wallet could be in trouble!
I had no idea there was a RH outlet in Mass! I guess I never looked. It is 2 hours from my house but after seeing your post I might have to check it out!
