Here are my top 5 tips for creating a springtime tablescape. A few weeks ago, I showed you a spring tablescape I made for HomeGoods using a set of fun dishes I found. The colors are so vibrant and cheerful, and they really make the table come alive!
I decided to go with pretty pastel colors for our Spring tablescape. You can’t go wrong with pink, blue and white.

Styling a table can be overwhelming especially when you don’t know what color scheme you want.
For me, I always work around one or two items that I love and then build off of that.
For this tablescape, I found these amazing flowered pink and blue dishes at HomeGoods that I just about fell over when I saw them.
For those of you who shop at HomeGoods, you know you need to scoop up a favorite find fast because if you don’t, someone else will grab it.
Layer your placemat, dishes and linens
Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns! I decided that the patterned cardboard styled placemats would look fabulous with the pink and blue flowered dishes.
How did I make the patterns work together?
At first I tried a patterned dish on top of the placemat and hated it so I decided to break up the pattern with a white dish.
Looks kind of cute right?
A set of white dishes when decorating any tablescape is a must.
You can’t go wrong with a set of white dishes and these are pretty spectacular with the pattern edge.
At $2 a piece from HomeGoods, that’s a bargain.
Choose solid serving pieces when working with patterned placemats and dishes
The sold pink water pitcher and cake stand coordinated nicely and worked well with the patterns on the dishes.
For me, I love mixing and matching patterns but I always balance out the pattern with a few solid pieces.
I am not a fan of a busy looking table.
Easter Spring Table Ideas
Incorporate something that is living
Flowers and/or plants are a must on most tablescapes.
For this particular Spring tablescape I added fresh flowers and a cute DIY flowering plant centerpiece that I made using a silver bowl, potting soil and a few inexpensive plants from my local grocery store.
Love the centerpiece?
You can see the full tutorial on our how to make a flowering centerpiece in 5 minutes post.
Add decorative accessories
In this case, I added these adorable Easter Bunnies from HomeGoods along with some chocolate covered pastel almonds.
The small silver candlesticks also worked as a great decorative accessory to hold a few candies.
These styling Spring tablescape tips are quick and easy ideas to pull together a pretty table that you can use all season long.
The biggest tip I can offer when mixing patterns is to pick one or two patterns in colors that coordinate together and then balance the patterns out with solid colors in the same color family.

Really, really pretty. I love all of the pink dishes and especially the pitcher.
BEAUTIFUL and enchanting! I LOVE the flowered dishes. TFS.
I love the blue glassware and pink floral glassware. Are those from Home Goods too?
Yes, they are 🙂
I love those flowered plates! Do you know the manufacturer? I saw those in our HomeGoods store here in Myrtle Beach, SC back in the spring and now wish that I had purchased them. Trying to find them and need to know manufacturer. Thank YOU!
