Spring is right around the corner and we are so ready to welcome the warmer weather. We can’t really complain though, this winter has been a breeze compared to last winter. My grandfather has only complained a couple times that he wishes he was in Florida. -ha. Today, we are sharing our Spring shelf vignette in our family room and featuring items so you can shop and get the look yourself.  We made this shelf using pine wood that I painted white and simple cheap wooden shelf brackets that I picked up at Home Depot. If they don’t have white brackets, just spray paint them white. That’s what I did! This shelf was like 5$ to make!

Spring Shelf Vignette

Adding a floating shelf to a blank wall is a great way to create a spot for seasonal vignettes as we did above. The vignette above consists of an old canvas photo I had that I covered with fabric. I paired it with a cute sign and wooden candle holders from HomeGoods. So simple yet so pretty. Here is a full shot of the family room decorated with coral and navy. I personally love the color coral and navy happens to coordinate nicely with it. Another color that looks great with coral is turquois, hence the torquois bowl on the coffee table.

When shopping a store or your home for throw pillows, try to have a color scheme in mind. For this particular look, I used the colors in the fabric on the wall art piece as my inspiration for pillow colors.

When decorating for Spring or Summer, we prefer bright and colorful accents and the coral and navy pillows seemed to do the trick in this space. The addition of a floating shelf will do wonders for any room. Try to envision this space above without the floating shelf behind the couch. I looked for a picture of the room prior to the shelf being added but couldn’t seem to find one. You get the idea though, right? The shelf adds height and architectural interest to the wall. So how many of you are staring to decorate for Spring? Do you like the idea of adding a floating shelf to create a Spring shelf vignette?
