Everyone loves a cute Christmas ornament. Have you ever used one as part of your place setting during the holidays to spruce up your table? I found these gorgeous red glass ornaments at HomeGoods and originally intended to hang them on my tree but in a moment of clarity, something told me to put them on the table. I knew this would be the perfect decorating tip to share as part of Laura’s 10 minute decorating series over at Finding Home.

Simply find an ornament you love. Mine came with a rope hook but if yours doesn’t, just tie a ribbon or colored rope around the ornament. You could always just place the ornament on top of the napkin as well.

For me, I found that coordinating the ornament color with the placemat worked nicely in providing a continual theme. The blue willow china is from my great great grandmother and the gold flatware is from my great grandmother. I think she would be pleased to see her vintage china and flatware paired with modern glam.

  1. Love this! What an easy idea. I actually picked up several sets of these ornaments last year at HomeGoods and used one or two as a little embellishment on my gifts!
