Sometimes as a blogger, I get really cool jobs that involve the kids. This particular sponsored post involved LEGO® and needless to say, my nine year old son was thrilled. He has been building and collecting LEGO® sets since he was two years old and when I told him the LEGO® Roadshow event was going to be at our local mall, Providence Place in Rhode Island, he couldn’t believe it. I was a cool mom for that one day. This was a great opportunity for me to spend some quality one on one time with my son exploring the huge LEGO® displays of popular iconic landmarks. It actually ended up being very educational. Each exhibit had it’s own write up that you could read and learn about the specific landmark.
Seriously, can you believe this Capital Building is made from LEGO® pieces? These landmark displays were absolutely amazing and my son’s eyes lite up when he saw them. His words exactly, “that is so cool, how did they build that?”
These are just a few of the exhibits, there were 12+ large landmark exhibits and 8+ smaller ones featuring kids favorite superhero’s, snowmen, rocket ships and a fabulous setup of the Nasa space station.
The Statue of Liberty stood tall on the second floor overlooking the balcony and we could see it off in a distance as we walked through the mall. I must say, I was impressed. These exhibits must have taken months to put together and consist of a gabillion LEGO® pieces. -ha.
My son stood in front of the Statue of Liberty for a good minute and just stared. I know what his brain was thinking, “how long did it take to build these?”
When my son saw the White House exhibit he said, “wow, imagine living inside that!” Indeed, it was beautiful.
You can enter to win a $100 LEGO® gift card by entering via Instagram. Simply head to the event, snap up to 10 pictures of your favorite landmarks and share on Instagram tagging @providenceplacemall and @LEGO and use the hashtag #LEGOAmericana.
The Roadshow will appear across the country beginning in February and culminating in October 2016. The event at the Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island ends on March 6th so be sure to check it out if you are in the area. Get directions to Providence Place and enjoy a day of fun with the family. The LEGO® Roadshow is a free exhibit open to all. If you have ever been to the Providence Place Mall, you know that the mall hosts a slew of high-end stores featuring every brand imaginable not to mention, a variety of restaurants. We ended up doing a little shopping after we explored the LEGO® displays and enjoyed a nice lunch together. A perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon with my favorite little man.
