Fall decorating can be so much fun but it can get out of hand “expense” wise quickly if you are not careful. Do you know what I mean? Our autumn sofa table mantel is spruced up with mercury pumpkins that were purchased earlier this year at Home Goods for under $20 a piece. Our family room is made up of earthy tones with the blue/green wall that was painted earlier this year.
I added some greenery from outside to a large glass vase that I had and added some pumpkin vase filler. My mom had a bunch of dried flowers left over from last year so I borrowed a bunch. When she gets home tonight from work, she will probably say, “oh that’s pretty, those flowers look like some that I have.” ha.
I did purchase the cute little owl at Home Goods today for $10. I think he looks pretty slick next to the mercury pumpkins.
I layered the blue print fabric over a piece of burlap. The table is dark wood and it seemed to be lacking so I think the burlap and blue print fabric add a little pizzaz. The burlap curtains really tie in the fall and autumn colors don’t you think?
Decorating for autumn doesn’t always have to be expensive. I love the Pottery Barn look but can’t always afford their prices. Do you have a sofa table or mantel that you could add a few mercury pumpkins, faux leaves and a cute little owl? You can use any table or shelf space to achieve this look.

What is the name of the paint color of your blue/green walls?
Love the color!
Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore 🙂
It’s beautiful really. I so love the idea of painting pumpkins. I wonder if I could get the look if I painted the pumpkin and then applied some silver leaf in places. The owl is perfect.
