My New Office Makeover Project

As many of you know, I recently moved my blog studio to my grandparents old living space above our garage. The space is about 1000 square feet and at the moment, is in shambles. Today I am sharing my plans of a new office makeover project with before pictures along with a featured products incorporating a colorful Modern Farmhouse theme.  I was thrilled when Kelly invited me to her Color Lovers series and what an amazing group of bloggers. I have partnered with 9 other bloggers and we are all sharing how to use color in the home and the best part, the series is sponsored by Birch Lane, The Mine and Minted.

Pretty awesome right?

This is how the room looks now.

This room use to be my grandfather’s room (before we moved them into the main part of the house) so it’s kind of weird to see it empty with all my stuff everywhere.

Once the room was empty, I painted the walls Extra White to brighten up the space. There is only one window so natural light is limited. This is my sad little work space at the moment and it’s kind of a drag working in such a mess. I am so excited to get this space looking fabulous!

I chose this gorgeous Oliver Writing Desk from Birch Lane. Birch Lane is an affordable shopping destination with classic designs and this desk, is amazing in person! I can’t wait to show you the space decorated and fully functional. New Office Makeover Project

This wire iron wall basket from Birch Lane will hang on the wall along side a grouping of photos.

I am in desperate need of a filing system as my current one is on the floor. Like, all over the floor. There is no organization and I can NEVER find what I am looking for. I decided that these modern filing cabinets would be perfect from The Mine and I am hoping to create a counter out of wood to provide more shelving.  I would like to create a workstation space similar to the one I created last year in the Police Station Break Room Community Service Makeover

The fabric covered armless dining chair from The Mine will coordinate perfectly with the desk and bring in the farmhouse theme. They had so many gorgeous chairs to pick from, I had a hard time deciding!

To add color to the space, I chose this amazing golden yellow geometric rug from The Mine. Modern Farmhouse a lot of times, is very neutral featuring white and wood tones. I wanted the room to be colorful yet still have that modern farmhouse theme so the rug, wall art and decor items are where I will introduce color.

Minted has a great selection of colorful artwork and I chose a few pieces featuring modern elements. Color can be added to a room via painting the walls a pop of color, colorful furnishings or in my case, bringing color in by way of decor accents. I plan on filling my shelves with colorful binders, books, journals and cute accessories to make it cozy.

  3. Oh great, another exciting project, yeah! I get so happy when you start to work on something, mainly, because it’s like waiting for a grown-up Christmas that is filled with joy, lol. That is exactly how you make me feel…joyful and happy. I cannot fathom where you find the time to do all that you do, it boggles the (MY) mind. Wishing you and the family continued abundant blessings. TFS
