I was recently invited to review hand soap by Method. Hand soap I said? Once I reviewed the literature about Method, my reasons for participating were a no brainer.  For anyone who knows me, I am a huge animal lover! I will share a story in a bit about how I rescued two labs, a mom and her puppy from the freeway but lets chat about Method soap for a moment.

No animal testing:  Method performs absolutely no animal testing on any of their products and does not endorse, request or commission any animal testing on their behalf. They’re even CCIC Leaping Bunny Program approved. No animal by-products: They don’t put any animal by-products in their products. That’s dirty. They use innovations like renewable plant-based formulas which are 100% gross-stuff-free. Pet friendly:  Method’s entire product line is safe for use around pets, specially formulated to put the hurt on dirt without harming a hair on you or your pets’ head.

Do you know what else is fabulous about this soap besides smelling really good?  Method and Soap[dot]com are teaming up to donate 15% of Method product sales on Soap[dot]com in June to the ASPCA®, whose mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. At Method, they believe that guinea pigs should never be used as guinea pigs. That’s why they never test any of their products or ingredients on animals, never use animal by-products, and make products that are safe for cleaning up after your pets. Their newest designed for good hand wash duo tells this story, and, they hope, helps raise awareness for the fair treatment of animals. As always, the naturally derived, biodegradable formulas are 100% vegan + cruelty-free.

I love the bottles that the soap comes in as well. Super stylish with vibrant colors. Perfect in the kitchen paired with fresh lemons.

Method is in business to change business. Their challenge is to make sure that every product they send out into the world is a little agent of environmental change, using safe and sustainable materials, manufactured responsibly. And that also means no animal testing. When it comes down to it, they’re here to make products that work, for you and for the planet. Ones that are as easy on the eyes as they are on the nose. It’s a tall order, but they wouldn’t want to do anything else.

Being an animal lover is a trait from my mom.  In the past, I have volunteered for local animal rescue groups as well as fostered dogs in need. I’m not the best foster home though, as I end up adopting them all!

I will never forget a warm sunny morning a few years ago while traveling on a 4 lane highway into Boston and seeing two lab dogs ( a mom and her puppy) stranded in the middle of the median. What did I do? I swerved across two lanes of traffic and immediately drove down the embankment and called the two stray dogs into my car. Once they were in my car they just stared at me and I just stared at them. Oh my goodness, what the heck was I going to do with these two dogs!? Long story short, I could see a neighborhood on the other side of the highway so I drove about 15 minutes , yes with these two stray dogs in my car, and found the neighborhood and started asking if anyone was missing a lab dog and her puppy. Wouldn’t you know it, after one hour I found their home! A utility worker had been to the home and left the gate open and they had escaped. What a miracle and a story I will never forget!

I love your Labrador story, Jessica. We, too, are pet rescuers – of sorts. One cold January evening as we were returning to our apt. from having dinner out, a yellow tabby cat followed us from the parking lot. He was full grown and definately “fixed.” As we unlocked the door, he was really trying to make friends (and it was already below freezing outside) so we let him in. He immediately jumped up onto my leather sofa, curled up and went to sleep. The next morning, he went to the front door and meowed, asking to go out (I assumed), and out he went. That afternoon, he was back – with a present for us – a field mouse on our doorstep. After that he moved in permanently. We named him King because that’s what he acted like. He only liked one kind of cat food, he asked to go out and asked to come back inside. Best cat we ever had.

  8. Love method. The honeysuckle is my favorite. That photo is adorable. x
