I hope everyone had a wonder Fourth of July. We are headed to Cape Cod for a much needed vacation and I will be “unplugging” a bit while we are away but I do have a few posts scheduled over the next week, one being a fun way to add a pop of color to your entry way with a simple 3 x 5 rug. What a difference it made!
I grew up in Massachusetts so Cape Cod and Newport are the two summer destinations that are long time family favorites. For many years my husband and I would spend our summer vacations in Newport, RI which is also where we got married. Since our son has been born, we tend to go back and forth between Cape Cod and Newport. Cape Cod seems to have a bit more to do for the little ones, although, Newport has some fun kid friendly activities as well.
I am looking forward to doing absolutely nothing over the next 10 days and enjoying time with my family. My husband actually has 10 days off from work which I am hoping he survives! ha. He may be ready to head back to work after being home for a couple days. Just kidding. I will be checking in throughout our vacation via instagram and facebook, sharing some of our activities and fun. Enjoy!
PS. The winner of the Mohawk Rug was announced, go here to see if it was you! Scroll down the post to the rafflecopter giveaway form to see the winner.

What started as a hobby, Jessica’s blog now has millions of people visit yearly and while many of the projects and posts look and sound perfect, life hasn’t always been easy. Read Jessica’s story and how overcoming death, divorce and dementia was one of her biggest life lessons to date.
Enjoy your vacation! Looking forward to your posts. I know exactly what you mean about your husband: if my husband has more than two days off in a row, he seems to run out of ideas as to what he should do. It’s like he can’t handle time to himself! I can only imagine how much more crazy he will be after we have kids!
haha 🙂
Enjoy your vacation! I follow your blog and live in Chatham, so I was super surprised to see your photo at ocean edge!
If youre looking for a fun activity, be sure to check out my new frozen yogurt shop in harwichport! (we just opened, and are working on decor, etc.) its called frozen yogurt on the half shell!
Looks like I’d be right at home! Beautiful vacay spot! Enjoy your time away. (I’ll text you later to make sure you’re relaxing! If you don’t respond then I KNOW you really unplugged! hahaha!)
ha thank you Kim!
Enjoy your vacation!
Thank you Nancy 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful time! I’ve always wanted to go to Cape Cod and I FINALLY talked my husband in to taking a few days off to take me. So now I’m just researching for things to do while we’re there. I’ve been looking specifically at Cape Cod dining , I think what I’m most excited about is not cooking for a few days. Do you have a favorite restaurant there that I could add to my list?
