Hello 2017! I won’t lie, it’s tough coming back after taking the last week off. We got back yesterday from a quick get away to Stowe Vermont (some pictures on our facebook and instagram account) and wow, it’s so amazing up there! BUT back to work today and time to get our house back in order. Can someone tell me why I put 7 Christmas trees up? -ha. Today we are sharing the Best of 2016 on our blog (in no particular order) based on pageviews and visits by all of you. The post contains affiliate links for your shopping pleasure.
Sophisticated Girls Bedroom Teen Makeover
Tufted Headboard | Mirror | Ruffle Bedspread
The girls bedroom was so much fun to makeover. You have to click over and see the bright pink and blue walls before. The room was completely gutted all the way down to the subflooring. You can find all the sources and where to buy everything in this room by clicking over to the post.
Gorgeous Mudroom Makeover (Part of the Kitchen Renovation)
As many of you know, we gutted our kitchen the end of 2014 and opened up the space into an adjoining room. The mudroom wall came in early 2016 and wow, the locker doors and drawers are so awesome and keep daily outerwear organized.
Police Station Makeover (Break Room)
The police station makeover was one of the biggest and most challenging yet, rewarding undertakings here on the blog. It was so much fun but I won’t lie, I almost ran away a couple times! -haha. I did this project in partnership with Sherwin-Williams and Wayfair and would love to do another one. Click over and checkout this break room before. Oh my is all I can say.
This serious about living with my grandfather who has Dementia and Alzheimer’s Symptoms has been so well received by all of you. There were so many posts that I wrote that many of you resonated with. Thank you for all of your encouragement! My grandfather has had a round couple months between multiple falls and his brain just not working. More on his health later this week.
We partnered with Wayfair and Birch Lane to create a summer family room featuring this fabulous new sectional. We moved our other sectional to our downstairs family room (more on that room later this month) and created a cozy tv space for my parents.
Did you see our dining room before? Be sure to click over and the drastic transformation.
We created a coastal dining room and these seagrass chairs ( and white table) were an amazing find and they add so much character to our dining room.
My grandfather actually loves these chairs! -ha. Every time he sits in them he says, “these are nice chairs kid.”
Looking forward to 2017 and getting moved into my new studio. Yep, I rented a studio space to work out of 2 months ago and haven’t been since! So much to do and so little time. I will be sharing more details of the studio and upcoming projects fixing it up as soon as I get all the Christmas trees put away!-ha ha
Meet Jessica
What started as a hobby, Jessica’s blog now has millions of people visit yearly and while many of the projects and posts look and sound perfect, life hasn’t always been easy. Read Jessica’s story and how overcoming death, divorce and dementia was one of her biggest life lessons to date.
I have fond memories looking back at the awesome things you and the family did. You remind me of Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s “Fixer Upper”, there is never a dull moment. Now I am very excited about the studio, can’t wait to see it. Wishing you and the family a Happy and Blessed 2017.
Thank you Juanita! I hope you had a good holiday and more to come on the studio 🙂
I Love all of the makeovers. The dining room is amazing and I especially love the contrast of the white table and the chairs. Stunning!
