Shhhhh don’t tell the kids but you have to see what’s in our storage trunk! Finding places to hide Christmas gifts, especially for little sneaky 7 year olds, is not easy. Well, our storage trunk from Wayfair ended up being the perfect solution for a few of our Christmas gifts. I shared our trunk earlier last week in our study makeover and not only is it stylish but it’s also functional. It serves as our coffee table, decorative accent piece and storage. Wayfair provided me with gifts cards towards the purchase of this trunk but I was not told which piece to buy.
The storage trunk has lift top and has a tremendous amount of storage room inside.
We use the trunk as a coffee table and the red tray with glass ornaments sits on top so for the Christmas season, the kids won’t remove the tray to even think to look inside. But if they did, this is what they would find!
The perfect spot for wrapped gifts for Christmas. Of course these are not Santa’s gifts, just in case they were to find them.
Isn’t this the best place for hiding gifts?
Here is our Christmas study, all decked out for the holidays in a fun whimsical theme. You can see more pictures of this room and the rest of our house decorated for Christmas over at our Christmas Home Tour page.
The trunk couldn’t have been more perfect for this space. The colors and metal trim ties in perfectly with the rustic industrial styled media console. When we are not using the trunk for storing gifts, it will house my son’s figurines, legos and smaller toys.
A storage trunk is a creative non-assuming place to hide Christmas gifts. This particular one happens to be right under everyones nose so it makes me giggle when I see my son sitting on the couch watching tv and knowing that the gifts are right under is nose. Oh if he only knew the tricks his momma plays on him 🙂 If you love this storage trunk, head over to Wayfair to check it out!
PS. I am actually over at Wayfair today sharing “how to decorate a flocked Christmas tree” so please come over and say hello!
Disclosure: As I noted in a previous post, Wayfair provided me with gifts cards to put towards the purchase of this trunk. All opinions and words are 100% my own. This trunk is the perfect addition to our study.

Love it!! That’s too funny. Gorgeous room.
I always have hidden gifts in the tubs that had been emptied when putting out the Christmas decorations. I would even keep an empty bin along with them throughout the year to put the few random gifts that I would pick up early on.
Love that trunk! I need one!
I love the trunk! You can’t ever have too much storage!
What a great idea!! LOL! Your home looks amazing too:-)
You’re so sneaky!! Love the trunk! 🙂
Vanessa
oh we totally need something like that!! love it!
I love it! I will have to do something like what you did this year. I hid all their gifts in a snowman I made out of shipping boxes (and kept it by the tree) last year, but since my kids read my blog, I think I need a new hiding place! This is the snowman I made: http://momhomeguide.com/2012/12/05/diy-box-snowman-advent-calendar-craft/
haha! Great idea! Now I know where I should hide our gifts too!
Lovely!
I love it! I love that trunk, too. When our kids were small, they had a large wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling closet in their room that had separate storage cabinets above where they hung their clothes. That’s where I would hide their Christmas presents every year and they never even knew their presents were right in the same room with them every day up until Christmas Eve.
Oh, I could really use one of those! What a great idea!
Such a clever hiding place! And I love that trunk! It’s so gorgeous!
