Today we are sharing our gorgeous kitchen pendant lighting tips. Our kitchen is the heart of our home and ever since the big renovation a couple summers ago, our kitchen is even more so the place where we all tend to gather. We eat, surf the ‘net, sit and talk, read, do homework and even watch TV in the kitchen. One of my favorite parts of the kitchen is our island and pendant lights. At night, we shut off all the overhead lights and just leave the pendant lights on. It’s so cozy!
Our pendants are a focal point in the kitchen, so making sure the light is soft yet bright is important to our family.
Our kitchen pendant light fixtures are a little tricky to deal with. There are 3 screws to release the drop-down cover in order to change the bulbs; the key to doing this is to keep the actual fixture straight. It’s a two-person job, and my dad and husband were up for the challenge. Ha!
We decided to swap out the existing light bulbs and give the Philips 60 Watt Replacement (7 Watt) Classic Glass LED light bulbs a try. Like I said, I love a soft natural light that is bright but not overpowering. My eyes are sensitive, and stark light makes them hurt. These light bulbs definitely delivered on that soft, bright look, one that was easy on my eyes. Beyond the look, what I love about the bulbs is they are LED, so they last an estimated 13.7 years, are energy-efficient and have an estimated energy cost of about $0.84 cents a year.
Every penny counts, right?

It’s amazing how light bulbs have changed over the years, especially from when I was a kid. The technology has evolved, but the Philips Classic Glass LED light bulbs have the same look as traditional ones!
Another key benefit of the Philips Classic Glass LED light bulbs is that they are essentially multi-functional. You can use them anywhere in your home!
You want to try a few out for yourself? You can purchase the Philips Classic Glass LED light bulb – Daylight version and the Philips Classic Glass LED light bulb – Soft White version at Home Depot for $9.97/4 pack (MSRP).
If your family is anything like ours, you have a bunch of lamps, pendants and light fixtures throughout your home, so having a couple extra bulbs on hand is important. I am planning to also swap out our family room and bathroom light bulbs with the Philips LEDs I have left over from my 4-packs and plan on purchasing a few more.

It is amazing to me how different light bulbs can look. I LOVE the look of the light that is casting down on your gorgeous countertop. Your father and husband seemed to have a very good time getting that done. TFS.
We’ve been switching over to LED a couple at a time. I love the soft white! My son picked up daylight not knowing the difference and we put them in the basement. Wow! Sure can see all the stuff now lol Looking forward to when we switch the outdoor spotlights near the peaks to LED … going to be bright at might, but a whole lot less scary! 🙂
I love the pics, hahha. They look very happy! Anyway, the pendants are gorgeous. It’s amazing how different light bulbs can create such a dramatic difference. Thank you for the tips!
