Who loves the color blue? We do! Last week we shared a sneak peek of our powder room makeover as part of the Sherwin-Williams National Painting Week. We are thrilled to be partnering with Sherwin-Williams again this year to bring you a bright, bold and fun bathroom makeover. Last year the color we choose was composed (green/SW 6472) and this year, we chose drizzle (blue /SW 6479). National Painting Week starts today so sit back and be inspired!

We absolutely love how the color drizzle looks in our small powder room off the kitchen.

This bathroom has seen many looks over the past 2 years and I must say, this new one happens to be my favorite.

I love how coral, white and blue look together so I decided to add coral mats and a valence (tutorial coming soon) to coordinate with the bright white vanity. A fresh coat of semi-gloss extra white paint turned this 50 year old vanity into a new shiny piece that looks brand new.

I prefer more subtle touches of coastal so the cute starfish and hand towels were just enough to give the coastal feel. I brought in our garden stool that I purchased last summer from our covered porch as an extra piece to fill in the corner gap between the vanity and the wall. The space isn’t that big but it fit nicely and added character to the old vanity. Mixing new and old is always fun!

Here is a shot of the bathroom with a light green on the wall and vanity painted dark gray.

Isn’t it amazing what a coat of paint can do?

Flowers are the perfect additive to make the space feel cozy and alive.

I picked up a matching toothbrush holder and soap dish for under $10 and used vases I already had for the flowers.

For the cost of paint and a few key accessories, we were able to create a coastal spa feel bathroom on a budget. The new space is so bright and cheery, even though the wall color is dark. Don’t be fooled by dark paint colors. Dark paint color has the ability to really brighten up a space if paired with light colored accessories, especially white! Are you working on a makeover in your home? Tell us below in the comments which space and color you chose! Thanks so much to Sherwin-Williams for letting us be a part of their National Painting Week celebration, we are loving our new bathroom.
