I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our weekend was filled with soccer games and opening the pool. What a hot weekend! It’s nice to have warm weather though, even if it’s a bit on the humid side. I wanted to show you our DIY Planter and how to add texture and character to an otherwise, boring plastic planter. Many of our porch and patio plants were purchased with the ugly plastic planters mainly because they are the most economical. I had some left over sisal from our DIY candle holder project so I decided to wrap the plastic planters in sisal.
First take your plastic planter and wrap sisal roping around the bottom.
Adhere the sisal roping with hot glue. Be sure to add hot glue to the end so the sisal does not fray.
Spin your plastic planter and continue wrapping the sisal roping and glueing as you go.
In about 10 minutes, your ugly plastic planter transforms from drab to fab!
A quick and easy DIY Planter.
Sisal roping is a perfect way to create a custom DIY planter and add a bit of coastal elegance to any space. If you follow me on instagram and facebook, I posted a picture this past weekend of a creation I was making for this porch. Sometimes I question whether DIY is better than just buying it! For those of you who were guessing what the creation was, it’s a curtain rod! Once I finally finished the project, it was worth the DIY torture but man, it was painful! ha. I saved almost $200 so in the end, that made me happy. I’ll be sharing that project and the entire porch soon!
