We are so excited to be getting the outdoor patio furniture setup and hopefully uncovering the pool in a couple weeks. One of our favorite things to do in the summer is cook on the grill. Mom’s loaded baked hot dogs are one of our favorite treats in the warmer months. The summer season soon approaching and Memorial Day right around the corner. I wanted to share with you my mom’s easy and amazing loaded baked hot dogs.
My son calls them fancy hot dogs. One of the most important parts of these delicious little guys are the buns. King’s Hawaiian hot dog buns are so soft they melt in your mouth. When King’s asked if we would like to try them out, we quickly agreed. We are huge fans of BBQ’s and always looking for new things to try.
Mom’s loaded baked hot dogs
The baked hot dogs are absolutely delicious.
How to make Baked Hot Dogs
Place your hot dog buns on a cookie sheet lined with tin foil.
Spread butter or margarine across the top of the buns.
Add your favorite hot dog and poke a few holes in it to ensure it cooks thoroughly.
Time Saver Tip: Buy store bought baked beans
Add baked beans. I cheated and used store bought beans but of course, if you have time to make homemade, those would be great too! One thing that I love about these buns are they don’t break apart when you open them. Many times when you load up a hot dog with all the fixings, they break at the bottom and everything falls out. Not these! They are thick and wide at the bottom and hold it all! ;).
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
Bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and buns are light brown.
Once baked, add your favorite relish, ketchup and mustard.
Hot Dogs and Baked Beans in a bun
Don’t these baked hot dogs make your mouth water? You will never want to eat another plain boring old hot dog again. Simply buy some baked beans and cheddar cheese and in 10 minutes, you will have a fancy gourmet hot dog that will be the perfect addition to your outdoor BBQ. Be sure to try King’s Hawaiian hot dog buns, you won’t be sorry….they are delicious! I mean, every gourmet hot dog deserves a gourmet bun right?
