Painting Nesting Boxes with White Paint

We made our nesting boxes out of plywood and painted them white.

WE used 1/2" plywood, 1/4" finish nails and wood glue to fasten the nesting boxes.

Why did we pick white paint? To help make the coop feel light and airy.

We used Benjamin Moore bright white in a satin finish. The slanted roof keeps the chickens off it which means they can't poop on it! ????

We used a paint roller and brush to paint the nesting boxes and applied 2 coats.

We decided to paint the entire coop white and add rubber horse stall mats to the floor.

Fill your boxes with shavings or straw
