This week, 4 generations under one roof turned two! Our multigenerational household experience continues to get more interesting as the time goes by. It is so strange to think another year has passed on this blogging journey. Two years ago, I started our blog to keep friends and family updated on what life was like living with my parents and grandparents. NEVER in a million years did I think I would be writing to all of YOU, two years later, about our blog and all of the wonderful opportunities, friendships and family events that have happened because of, this little o’l blog. It seriously blows my mind. I will say though, I think multigenerational households are on the rise and will continue rise through the unforeseeable future.
Our multigenerational living lifestyle started over five years ago and three years since my grandparents joined the fun. We have continued our Saturday night ritual dinners together as a family and plug along with our DIY home renovation projects. Since last August when I posted our one year anniversary, we were fortunate enough to be featured in This Old House magazine and Woman’s Day Magazine. Pretty darn exciting considering this blog started as a hobby. I attended a second blog conference in Atlanta last month and will be traveling to New York City in September to attend a Better Homes and Gardens blogger event. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and say, “how did this blog turn into such an awesome job!?”. I was not looking for a job nor did I want one when I started our blog two years ago. I was thrilled to find an online avenue to keep friends and family updated on our lives and what we did together as a family. It’s pretty cool to have met all of you and it blows my mind that you all find us interesting!
I am looking forward to heading into our third year of sharing our lives and home projects with you. I cannot thank all of you enough for your kind, sweet and funny emails you send me about our family. The ones especially about my grandfather make me laugh :). PS. So here we go, four generations living under one roof hits year three! I am excited to see what this year brings.
