My son is home for Spring break this week, although the weather is far from Spring weather here. It was sleeting here yesterday with torrential down pours but we are making the best of it. Today we are sharing a 3 Minute Kids Blueberry Bliss Smoothie (it’s for adults too) that my son made from start to finish. He is 11 years old and loves to cook. My mom bought him a cookbook this past Christmas and he is determined to make everything in it. It’s so funny to watch his passion for cooking. He literally staged all his ingredients yesterday on the counter and asked if we could do a video blog post.
Watch the Video of the recipe and his couple second intro and exit. He did this entire project (with a little help from me) and came up with all the clips on his own.
Be sure to give him a thumbs up on video!
I love that this recipe uses Flax Meal as it teaches my son the importance of healthy ingredients. He won’t eat greek yogurt plain but in the smoothie, he loves it. Blending up your kids favorite fruits along with a couple other healthy ingredients they normally wouldn’t eat is a great way to introduce new things to them.
I had to laugh when I came into the kitchen as he had everything ready for a picture. He has been paying attention to me apparently when I am creating and sharing blog posts.

He even helped make the video, edit and offered his opinions on how the video should look. He really was very excited about this smoothie recipe and sharing it with all of you. I told him he may just be my next assistant ;). His response was, “can you pay me?” -ha. Hopefully if you have kids or grandkids this video will inspire them to start their own cooking in the kitchen. We are planning to make a shredded turkey burger today so watch for that recipe soon.
