Good morning! Last week I posted our new casual and cottage designed Family room and I guess I dropped the ball a bit on providing a resource list. I had no idea the response this post would receive and after the 100th email (literally) about “where did you buy that?” it dawned on me….I should have added that in the post! For some of you 100 emails isn’t a lot but for this little O’l blog, it blew up my gmail account. Thank you so much for all the sweet comments!![]()
RESOURCE LIST:
*The media console we made. You can view that tutorial post here.
*The drapes are raw burlap cut to size. You can buy burlap at any fabric store.
*The rug is from overstock and is called “blue/gray trellis rug”. The size shown in my picture is an 8×10 . It appears to be sold out but you can find it here. I found a $40 off coupon code on retailmenot.com ! Take a few minutes and Google coupon codes for overstock, $40 is worth it!
*The couch is a slipcovered sectional. You can see it here.
* The lanterns are from pier one that I already had.
* The lamps are from Marshalls that I already had.
*This sunshine pillow is from Cottage Coastal Store. Can you believe I won this on a blog giveaway! This online store is fabulous!
*The yellow throw is from Marshalls.![]()
*The bench/window seat we made. You can find that post here.
*The doves above the TV are from target that I already had.
*The fabric is from Fabric.com. The 3 yellow patterns are “premier prints yellow slub” and you can find them here. The gray flower pattern is “Thomas Paul Dahlia Dove” and you find it here.
This was my first time posting about a {before and after} since I started blogging last September so I’ll chalk it up to a learning experience. I am recovering from surgery so if I haven’t gotten back to your email, I’m sorry! This post should answer all your questions
.

I just found your blog and I love, love, love this room make over.
Take care of yourself so you can recover from surgery!
I'm not one bit surprised that you got 100 emails from this (and that seems like a lot to me too). It's such an amazing transformation. Great job!
Love the transformation! It looks amazing!
Jessica,
I saw your makeover post on my iphone but was unable to comment at the time. Your living room is absolutely stunning. I adore all its features from your slip-covered sectional to your use of yellow that really adds a pleasant pop of surprise and color. This is perfection and I am keeping it for inspiration for our living room make over!
Deborah
PS I wish you a speedy recovery and good health!
Thank you so much Deborah!
Ok, first off, I'm in love with your sofa. Now, the room…its absolutely amazing. You've done such a great job with it. Lu-lu-love it.
Thank you sonya!
Just stumbled on this blog via Pinterest- I absolutely love this make over!! Sadly I'm all the way over in Ireland so don't have somehog those fab stores you mentioned…..but my cousins in Ohio do so I plan to get them on the case! Lol
I've added your blog to my Bloglovin and look forward to following your DIY adventures! Get well soon!

Jessica, I am sorry if I missed where you may have already mentioned it, but what color of blue is on the walls? I fell in love with it when I first read about your family room makeover (I found your blog either through Young House Love or Southern Hospitality…can’t remember which – sorry!) a few months ago. I also just saw the ABC coverage post…. very cool.
Blue Wythe. I inboxed you the details
I love LOVE LOVE your blue rug. I’ve been planning to get that one for our dining room for a while now. Does it look as beautiful in real life? Is it holding up well for you?
It’s especially beautiful with the yellow accents!
Hi, thank you so much
Yes, the rug is beautiful in real life. I won’t lie, it does shed a bit though but only in the middle part where it meets the long part of the couch (where your feet will rest when sitting on the couch) I have no idea why. It doesn’t bother me b/c I vacuum daily (kids and dogs) so it’s no big deal for me. Otherwise, the quality and color is fabulous
Hi Jessica, Hope you are on the mend. Thanks so much for posting this, it is spectacular. I would like to know if you could tell me where you got the console table behind your couch, the one with the lamp on it. I have been looking for a table like this and I think it really pretty. Thanks.
Hi Jessica,
I love what you accomplished with your room. I’m curious who makes your white slipcovered sofa?
thanks
woops! didn’t see the link above.
I found your family room makeover on Pinterest and I’ve been showering your blog to find the name/information about the wall color! I see that you messages another reader– Would you be willing to share? I’m going to buy a sample of whatever it is tomorrow!
Hi Janelle! So sorry about that, I thought the paint color was on the post and I can’t seem to find it either! The paint on the lower wall (planks) is White Dove by Benjamin Moore and the top of the wall is Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore. I used a satin finish for planks (white dove) as I didn’t want the lower wall to shiny but not dull so satin was the winner

Hi!
I saw your room makeover on Pinterest. You did a beautiful job! Where did you find the pillows on your lovely sofa?
Thanks for sharing your amazing work
Thank you! I actually bought the fabric at fabric.com and made them
